The Accademia Villa Bossi takes its origins from Guido Bizzi’s experiences in the 60s years, during his studies at the Politecnico of Torino.
Meeting and working with Mauro Uberti led them to the foundation of the “Camerata Polifonica di Torino” and to the study of historic treatises with the purpose to understand how Monteverdi’s and his contemporaries wanted their music to be performed.
The idea of going back to the past in order to understand our present days has also been the Leitmotiv during the following decades.
In fact, we find that same principle inside the 20 years activity of “ Il Laboratorio di Guido Bizzi” of Via Pastrengo, in the “Isola” district of Milano, recognized by many as one of the most dynamic musical initiatives that took place in those years in the city.
Among the creations of the “Laboratorio della Via Pastrengo”, we find the foundation of the “SCUOLA di LIUTERIA di MILANO”, the restauration of the collection of the MUSEO TEATRALE alla SCALA and BIZZI - HISTORICAL KEYBOARD INSTRUMENTS who has become a leading name, worldwide.
The Accademia Europea Villa Bossi is built on an innovative educational system, based on TEACHING and CONCERTS.
The master-classes deal with many historical instruments but also the main classical instruments, including modern piano and strings.
Our programs aim to make students understand the development of musical instruments and of the performing praxis during the last centuries.
Professors
The Accademia’s professors work with their students on the playing praxis in strict connection with the technical features of the musical instruments they are dealing with.
Rooms and Instruments
The Accademia owns a wide collection of musical instruments, all of them in good working conditions which can also be used for concerts, and for recording CDs and DVDs.
Concerts
The ultimate goal of the Accademia is to accompany students into the working world.
Therefore, we have planned a wide program of concerts for their first professional steps.
